Your Work Falls into Four Primary Categories:

Collateral Margining
Support essential business processes (includes coverage during adverse weather conditions)
Complete daily margin calls and same day collateral settlements with assigned Counterparties across multiple products
Support securities collateral activities
Identify and resolve process exceptions and data discrepancies
Interface with and communicate to external Brokers and Dealers and other internal business areas
Identify potential settlement discrepancies and negotiate quick resolutions without adverse impact to Freddie Mac
Serve as an operational liaison for trading staff, counterparties, brokers, clearing agents, other Freddie Mac business areas and internal/external auditors

Reporting and Reconciliation
  • Complete daily portfolio reconciliations
  • Prepare daily and monthly reporting on collateral activity
  • Maintain process and other required documentation

New Project Initiatives
  • Participation in various types of system enhancement testing
  • Responsible for various administrative tasks in support of projects, initiatives, and team goals
  • Recommend process improvements and systems enhancements
  • Support new product and system enhancement initiatives within the department

  • Will communicate with internal business partners such as Accounting and Front Office
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively within the Collateral Management Team
  • Expected to interface with and communicate to Counterparties on a daily basis.
  • Analyst must embody a high degree of professionalism and exhibit this with all communications, written and oral


  • Internship or related experience in capital market operations or finance
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired
  • Strong ability to balance baseline activities and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, team player with good people skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as autonomously under pressure situations with sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with trading personnel, technology staff, accounting, audit, and legal

  • Understanding of Fixed Income Securities, including Mortgage Backed Securities, and Repurchase AgreementsKnowledge of Derivative products and recent Dodd Frank related regulations
