The Emmes Company, LLC is searching for an EDC Quality Analyst located in our Rockville, Maryland, Frederick, Maryland and/or Tysons Corner, Virginia office. Emmes provides flexibility for office location preference, dependent upon position.

Primary Purpose

The EDC Quality Analyst is responsible for monitoring all stages of electronic data capture (EDC) software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards for data systems developed under the VID research unit. Activities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions, reviewing system requirements, and tracking quality metrics.

  • Designs and creates test conditions, test data, and test scripts to address business and technical use cases
  • Performs test validation at various levels including database validation, logging validation, and user interface validation
  • Executes manual and automated tests; identify actionable bugs quickly
  • Informs team leads and other designated management officials of results of testing activities
  • Documents, tracks, and escalates issues as appropriate, using issue tracking tools to document identified bugs
  • Participates in troubleshooting and triaging the issues with team members to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
  • Develops and presents technical documentation, test cases, test reports, test data sets and other briefing materials to support program status reviews, control gates, and other presentations as directed by program management
  • Participates in regular meetings such as planning sessions, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience in a software testing role
  • Experience implementing software QA methodologies, tools, and processes, SQL and scripting
  • Self-motivated, proactive and detail-oriented work methods are required
  • Experience with EDC, EHR, and/or other Health IT systems is preferred
  • Working knowledge of relational databases such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle is preferred
  • Working knowledge of browser debugging tools and automated testing is preferred
