Under direct supervision the Food Service Worker II is responsible for preparing food items for the cafeteria for general and therapeutic diets. Works collaboratively with peers, visitors, patients, management team, and other hospital staff.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform job duties 100% every day, every shift for optimal productivity.
1. Performs sanitation duties as assigned in dish room
2. Assemble prepared foods on trays with accuracy.
3. Ensures food products are produced in a timely manner under appropriate food safety guidelines.
4. As needed, prepares food on time by following standardized recipes 100% of the time at the correct temperature and accurately documents time and temperature.
5. Maintains sanitation for area utilization.
6. Responsible for HAACP and food safety.
7. Communicate proactively to direct supervisor to ensure superior outcomes are met on a daily basis.
8. Attends in-service training to obtain knowledge of menus/ food and physical safety.
9. Attends departmental meetings, department training and completes mandatory Learning & Performance Suite training.
10. Respects cultural, ethnic, and religious food preferences.
11. Be a good steward of AHC's resources by not wasting time or materials.
12. Respects customers, peers and supervisory staff.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
• High school or GED
• Food Handlers Certification helpful
• 1 - 2 Years hospital food service experience helpful
• Strong customer service skills
• Able to handle a multi task environment
• Must be able to read and speak English
