Position Summary: 

Under the supervision of the Clinical Program Director, the Therapist is responsible for conducting assessments, developing and executing individual treatment plans, and conducting process groups and individualized sessions with residents. 

 

Essential Therapist Duties:

  • Serve as the primary therapist, case manager, and point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Facilitate and maintain a positive therapeutic environment.
  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Provide clinical assessments and periodic clinical evaluations.
  • Attend meetings and supervisions as required.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director and/or President.

Performance Requirements for the Assignments Described:

  • Assure the integrity of the treatment program for assigned students.
  • Coordinate and communicate with all professionals working with the student to assure consistency and collaboration.
  • Communicate with the family to assure that they are engaged and informed.
  • Provide necessary leadership to ensure the clinical integrity of the program/environment.
  • Ensure that therapeutic activities/groups are carried out as scheduled.
  • Communicate and document information regarding status/treatment issues to team in multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Provide individual counseling sessions, per program policies and procedures, to each client on caseload.
  • Facilitate therapy groups, seminars, community meetings, and other groups as assigned.
  • Assure that client records are maintained according to all state, federal, and accreditation guidelines.
  • Assure that client records are current and meet required deadlines.
  • Document all individual and group therapy sessions in the electronic clinical record.
  • Complete assessment within one week of admission. Assessment is to include, but is not limited to review of all prior treatment/testing/school records, the CHAT, bio-psycho-social interview, etc.
  • Develop initial treatment plan within five business days of admission. Complete an updated treatment plan every 30 days or as needed.
  • Perform tasks and duties delegated by Clinical Director and/or President for the sake of facilitating treatment and ensuring program services are provided.
  • Meet with Clinical Program Director weekly for individual supervision to maintain BSWE and state requirements.
  • Engage in group supervision as needed.
  • Attend treatment team/clinical team meetings.

Basic Education and Experience Required:

The Therapist will have a minimum of a master’s degree.  The Therapist will be licensed or license-eligible as an LGSW/LCSW or LGPC/LCPC.  Candidates will also have at least three years of experience.
