Position: Engineer - Automotive Safety (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration - NHTSA)

Location: Alexandria (Old Town), VA

Full time  - Supporting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) - Provide engineering support in developing and maintaining automotive safety standards. Program tasks include conducting automotive research, reviewing data & reports and producing databases/spreadsheets/reports. Must exhibit good verbal/written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Produce high quality and error free documents in response to program requirements. Create, maintain and track data spreadsheets, create/edit reports and provide support to day‐to‐day operations. Additional responsibilities may include managing data/information, supporting on‐going and new projects/assignments. Work is generally performed in an office setting.

Requirements:

Must have BS degree in engineering; with minimum three years experience. Requires knowledge of engineering principles and practices applicable to mechanical engineering. Must possess the ability to apply standard engineering practices, methods, and techniques to perform technical analyses. Must possess good writing skills, analytical skills, and team working skills. Must exhibit good verbal/written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to interface with all levels of management and internal/external customers as needed. Must Possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to work independently.
