Job Number: R0067452 Cloud Engineer The Challenge : We have the technology, but do we know how to use it? In an industry where "Cloud" is sometimes synonymous with "genie," it's important to have someone on your team who knows how to engineer Cloud-based and hybrid on-premise/Cloud-based solutions. That's why we need you, an engineer who knows how hardware and software components fit together and integrate with Cloud-based resources, to help us modernize Navy systems and applications. As a Cloud engineer on our team, you'll help teams revamp their applications using Navy-approved solutions to support mission critical operations. You'll recommend tools and capabilities based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on-premise, Cloud-based, and hybrid resources. You'll work with Navy clients and other contractors supporting the client space to inform strategy and architecture design. This is an opportunity to stay on top of the latest Cloud resources as you prototype using multiple techniques and new technologies. You'll be able to gain experience in Cloud-based security, architectures, and tools while developing critical systems for the Navy. You Have: -1+ years of experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting multiple operating systems, including UNIX, Linux, and Windows 2008 and 2012 -Experience with designing, building, deploying, managing, and securing software architectures in Cloud computing environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or OpenStack -Experience with virtualization and containerization, including VMware, KVM, Virtual Box, and Docker -Experience with automation software, including Ansible, Puppet, Chef, CloudFormation, and cfengine -Experience with developing, executing, and managing Cloud migration strategies in the DoD or federal markets and the full software or systems development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, integration, testing, and implementation -Experience with scripting, including PowerShell scripts and Python and networking, including OSI network layers and TCP/IP -Knowledge of federal IT and Cloud security policies, including FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and DoD Cloud SRG and applying them to the design and implementation of Cloud solutions to achieve an Authorization to Operate (ATO) -Ability to reason the pros and cons of various Cloud tools and environments based on client environments -Ability to obtain a security clearance -HS diploma or GED Nice If You Have: -Experience with working in defense or intelligence community (IC) Cloud environments, including AWS GovCloud or MilCloud a plus -Secret clearance -BS degree in CS, Engineering, or a related field preferred; MS degree in CS, Engineering, or a related field a plus -Security+ Certification -AWS or Microsoft Cloud Certification Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
