Under the supervision of the Health Academy Coordinator, we are in search of a bilingual administrative support professional (Spanish or Amharic) to serve as Program Assistant. The Program Assistant will provide general support for the Health Academy and work closely with the Nurse Aide Instructors to enhance student achievement and success. They will also provide classroom support by completing various academic administrative tasks and work directly with students to assist in skills practice, test preparation and other related activities that promote student success.

Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Nurse Aide Instructor to support day to day classroom administrative task which includes taking attendance, test administration, review of homework assignments, scoring and recording of grades

  • Assist students in small groups and individually with skills practice in the nursing lab, practicing and reviewing for the state licensing exam, completing applications, and other regulatory & compliance-related documents.

  • Supports the Nurse Aide Instructor by preparing the classroom for instruction and ensuring that the needed supplies and equipment are available and functioning properly

  • Supports the overall success of present and former students by conducting follow-ups to ensure compliance with the needs of the nurse aide training program including, but not limited to attendance, registration, licensing, employment, and data collection

Provides general administrative support for the Health Academy by creating correspondence, maintaining files, inputting student data into the student information system, and other assigned tasks

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of 2-3 years of related experience or the appropriate combination of education and experience.

  • Bilingual proficiency required (Spanish or Amharic)

  • Knowledge and experience using Windows, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks and establish task priorities

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to function effectively under pressure

  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion

    Schedule Requirements: Monday – Thursday 8:30 am – 12:00 pm & 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
