About the Position The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for all activities of the National Utility Contractors Association in accordance with bylaws, budgets, policies, programs, and to ensure execution of the strategic plan under the leadership of the Board of Directors. The Work Directly manages the following NUCA program areas ensuring that qualified professionals fulfill those roles: Chief Operating Officer who oversees office administration, communications, membership, education, sales and marketing, meetings and events. Safety contractor who provides member programs on industry safety and training. Government affairs contractor responsible for the government affairs program, lobbying activities, and coalitions. Industry methods and delivery manager focusing on trenchless technology. Will provide leadership to ensure the success of the multi-year board approved strategic plan by collaborating with executive leadership and staff to ensure timely and appropriate delivery of programs and products that drive membership growth and membership retention. A strong emphasis will be placed on aligning and incorporating strategic initiatives to the annual association budget. Consistently review and provide feedback to the strategic plan and alert the Board of Directors to any planned changes. Responsible for fiscal management by ensuring the association operates within the budgetary limitations approved by the Board of Directors. Ensures the timely delivery of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for national office and affiliate locations. Will manage and provide input regularly on the financial and legal risk in the organizations operations. Serves as Assistant Secretary of the Board of Directors and for the NUCA Foundation for Education & Research. Consults with Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and general membership on significant issues that directly impact the membership. Works in partnership with the Chairman of the Board to develop meeting agendas and supporting materials that aids the Executive Committee and Board in addressing key priority issues. Works in partnership with the Government Relations contractor on industry coalitions and elevating member engagement on industry issues. Responsible for the management of the associations Political Action Committee and will consistently provide advice and feedback on the overall program and potential program growth. Partners and provides support to the chapter leadership to encourage grassroots membership engagement. Engage key stakeholders and potential partners at industry trade shows, coalition events, and advocacy events. Provide guidance and support to chapter leadership on membership recruitment and retention. Attend chapter events with reasonable frequency. Informs and guides staff on association trends in member programs and services. Ensure membership programs offered are relevant to members and consistent with the highest professional standards.
