Description Job Description: The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Senior Engineer to work in our Jacksonville, FL office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the NAVAIR mission. In this mission we provide aviation related corrosion and material degradation expertise to NAVAIR stakeholders to review, evaluate and assess root cause analysis and mitigation processes for identified NAVAIR platforms. Primary Responsibilities Specific job responsibilities will include interfacing with Materials Engineers and other personnel from Aircraft Program Offices (PMAs), Fleet Support Teams (FSTs) at the Fleet Readiness Centers (FRCs) Naval Air Technical Data and Engineering Command (NATEC) and Naval Air Warfare centers/In Service Support Centers to assess corrosion degrader mitigation processes and propose areas for improvement. Basic Qualifications BS in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar 20+ years of demonstrated engineering technical and management experience in naval aviation. To include experience at Materials Engineering Laboratories, FRCs, Depts, NATEC, NAWC/ISSC. 10+ years demonstrated experience in aviation corrosion engineering, failure analysis, and aviation manufacturing processes. Demonstrated experience evaluating maintenance and repair processes and recommending best practices. Experience in root cause analysis. Experience in developing Standard Work Package or Instructions.
