We are seeking a talented and dynamic BI Developer/Data Analyst to support a long term contract for an exciting enterprise company. This organization is a leader in air traffic surveillance systems and is revolutionizing the entire aviation industry.As a Data Analyst/Power BI Developer - Contractor, you will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of application developed for our internal customers. As a member working in a team environment you will take direction from Product Owner and Business System Leads on development activities.Duties And Responsibilities Participate in technical planning & requirements gathering phases including Design, code, test, troubleshoot, and document engineering software applications. Ensuring that technical software development process is followed on the project, familiar with industry best practices for software development. Data Visualization Technique - Reports, Dashboards, Analytical Notebooks and Stories Defining Measures and KPI's Semantic Layer in Power BI Power Query and DAX Power BI best practices around security Utilize key components of SQL Server (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, MDS/DQS, R Server) Leverage Microsoft cloud-based solutions for data/analytics including Azure HDInsight, Azure SQL DW, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Machine Learning R and Python visualizations GIS Mapping visualizations ASTERIX (ATC standard) Analytics Geospatial and Weather Analytics SDLC Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience level Closely work with stakeholders on Enabling Power BI Service and Architecture Understanding of Data Flows and Common Data ModelQualifications Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or comparable major Passionate coder with 4 years of application development experience 2 year working experience with Power BI (Power Query, DAX, Visualizations) Experience using SQL Server (complex queries, store procedures and SSRS) Experience coding for Geospatial analytics Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology Strong debugging, problem solving and investigative skills. Ability to assimilate disparate information (log files, error messages etc.) and pursue leads to find root cause problems Self-starter who can work independently Strong communication skills.
