BlackIvy is looking for a Vice President with proven experience in rigorous financial modeling, analysis and reporting; financial planning; structuring, underwriting and financial due diligence to join its Washington - based team. This position is a strategic partner to BlackIvy's senior team, supporting the strategic expansion of BlackIvy's portfolio of businesses in Sub-Sahara Africa by the identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic transactions -- including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, strategic alliances and partnerships - and the identification, analysis, structuring and securing of capital (equity/debt). Since 2014, BlackIvy has launched five businesses across a diverse platform of real estate, health, food and logistics. The Vice President will report to the Chief Operating Officer and the Managing Director for Business Development, with accountability for providing strategic guidance with evidenced-based analysis to influence investment decisions, support BlackIvy's capital raises, investor relations, and monitor and safeguard the financial success of BlackIvy and its businesses. Primary Responsibilities and Duties Evaluate inorganic growth opportunities for BlackIvy through proactive outreach and assessment; including performing due diligence on market, operational and financial risks; devise and recommend risk mitigation and value-creation strategies; Negotiate transaction consideration, structure and integration plans; Lead strategic and financial analysis of growth opportunities across the multiple sectors in which BlackIvy operates, including accountability for building detailed financial and risk sensitivity models and reporting tools that guide BlackIvy's capital raising, investment, and investor reporting activities; Staff BlackIvy's Investment Committee; including preparation of comprehensive business plans and investment review documents that strategically prioritize and aid decision-making through the key stages of the business development and transaction process; Participate as a member of the capital raising team, develop materials and due diligence for potential investors, interface with existing and potential investors, gather and synthesize data and perform financial analyses in response to investor requests; Research and analyze debt and equity products available in the market, evaluating best fit for BlackIvy's needs; devise innovative options to optimize financing structures; and, Act as a thought partner and trusted advisor to BlackIvy's senior team and business leaders by staying abreast of financial and economic data, macroeconomic trends, political and regulatory developments and other data germane to BlackIvy's strategic portfolio and value proposition. Qualifications Bachelor's or equivalent degree with a record of strong academic achievement; MBA preferred but not required; 5-8 years of financial services experience; investment banking, private equity, or direct investing experience. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of relevant transaction experience in emerging markets, ideally in Sub-Saharan Africa. Preference will be given to candidates with applied skills in real estate, infrastructure and project finance; An entrepreneur's acumen. This position is accountable for mapping and analyzing various industries and sub- sectors within those industries in seeking the best business development opportunities; Strong, proven, hands-on problem-solving, advanced financial statement analysis, valuation, and modeling skills; Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills; ability to clearly articulate and present complex financial models in an accessible manner to BlackIvy's team, investors and financial partners. High-level proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications; Ability to build and effectively manage relationships with business leaders and external constituents; and, Good judgement, impeccable ethics, and a strong team player; desire to succeed and grow in a fast-paced, demanding and entrepreneurial Company.
