About The XFLThe new XFL will reimagine football for the 21st century when it kicks off in early 2020. Delivering authentic, high-energy football for the whole family at an affordable price, the XFL will offer fast-paced games with fewer play stoppages and simpler rules. The league will launch with eight teams in markets across the country, 45-man active rosters, and a 10-week regular season schedule with a postseason consisting of two semifinal playoff games and a championship game. The XFL is a single entity that owns the league and all teams, employing professionals at the Stamford, CT headquarters as well as in each of the markets that the teams call home.About The RoleThe XFL is seeking a creative, organized, high-energy individual to become a part of the XFL family for our inaugural season. This position, in collaboration with the XFL entertainment team, is responsible for designing and executing a unique guest experience for XFL games. This includes hiring and training gameday crew, coordinating with football operations, supporting the XFL partnership department with activation and interfacing on behalf of the XFL DC Defenders with the venue for overall gameday readiness and more.The ideal candidate has experience in large format live events, with a background in the sports industry preferred but not required. They will be a strong communicator who is able to lead and direct gameday staff under fast-paced conditions. We are looking for a candidate with fresh ideas that live "outside of the box" when it comes to problem solving and creating a fantastic experience for a live audience. They will be a self-starter who understands the importance of high character and a strong work ethic. Another key to the role will be an energetic and focused effort, and a successful candidate will have strong references that can attest to their personality being a major asset in your overall skill set.The team will play home games at Audi Field, which are scheduled to begin February 2020. This position will report directly to the Team President and will have consistent communication with the XFL live marketing and entertainment groups. The XFL DC Defenders' offices are located in Washington, DC.What you will do GAME OPERATIONS Job Duties Act as event manager on game nights and game day live programming for all home games. Manage all game inventory for corporate partnerships, marketing, community and group sales needs. Create, develop and update game scripts and logs to properly activate all sales, marketing and game presentation goals. Plan and execute theme nights that enhance the fan experience and increase ticket sales revenue. Manage PA Announcer, in-game host and DJ. Book and oversee gameday talent including, but not limited to, Interactive Anthem performer, Squad, Floor Staff, Host and Public Address Announcer. Support activation of group sales fan experiences. Oversee inventory of all props and storage. Program all activations on the concourse and outside of the arena. Coordinate with football operations on team needs and game logistics. Interface with the XFL to meet all required game constructs as outlined in the game entertainment manual. Production and development of in-game promotions, contests and the creation of in-game elements as needed using multi-media services available through the venue. Develop and execute fan fest and gameday activations and events. Interface with all departments for creation of game notes. Conduct gameday meeting with venue and team departments. Act as the main point person with venue for venue doors, ingress and egress, load in and strike of fan interactive areas. Interface with broadcast for all pre-gameday operational needs, including camera placements, park & power, field access, etc. EVENT PRODUCTION (Non gameday or gameday) Develop and implement any and all production needs related to team special events, including but not limited to, budgeting, run of show, production timelines, event logistics, staffing development, security and credentials and any other necessary services. Manage and develop the event and all operational teams needed for execution of said event. Assist in the development of creative content for run of show across events as needed. Interface with partnership department for creation, activation and fulfillment of sponsor related opportunities and event elements. Liaison between team and outside vendors and groups to develop event constructs and personnel services, specifically security, event staffing, production staffing, event day personnel and production elements. Track and maintain event operational expense budgets. Script and coordinate script elements for event constructs including, but not limited to, main stages, interactive zones and fan experiences. Coordinate the event with Washington DC City Services, including but not limited to, DOT, PD, FD and TCB, and obtain all required permits for the event. Interface with broadcast groups and departments to ensure implementation of broadcast requirements in conjunction with live event executions. What you will bring Bachelor's degree. 5+ years of experience in the live entertainment industry; preference given to those with management experience. Prior experience in the professional or collegiate sports industry is preferred. Product inventory purchasing and coordination experience is a plus. Strong organizational skills. Strong communicator with an emphasis on positive reinforcement. High-energy personality with an ability to motivate staff through fun and innovative leadership techniques. Creative mindset with a passion for generating event and entertainment concepts. Experience coordinating across various departments on parallel paths for multiple goal sets. Experience booking, coordinating and working with entertainment talent. Occasional travel to XFL League games and events in other markets is required.
