As our Lead Clinical Bioinformatics Architect, you'll work to analyze data structures and information from clinical sources including genomic samples, electronic medical records systems, and other structured and unstructured data, and develop strategies to transform data into structures that support reporting, research, and clinical care. Prior experience with big data systems, as well as experience in the healthcare field, is a must. Experience with genetic data is highly preferred. In this role, you'll:Participate in design activities to understand application requirements and use casesPropose data structure designs, and create and maintain entity relationship, data flow, and other diagrams and documents to be used by designers and developers as a common knowledge baseDevelop and maintain DDL and other source code for creating schema objects such as users, tables, indexes, collections, etcAccumulo table design: Develop and document strategy for mapping genomic data, electronic health record data, research database data, HL7 transactions, and other source data into noSQL key/value store formatsAnalyze standard specifications, design Healytics data structure to store the specifications, facilitate mapping data elements to/from EMR data elements, and develop a common set of definitions to be used in the Healytics data model Technical SkillsMasters or PhD in bioinformatics or genetics, computer science, biology, biochemistry, or similarExperience with genetic data alignment, pipelining, etc.Facility with healthcare data systems, like EHR, PACS, RDBMS, etc., and standard specifications such as HL7, RIM and FHIRExperience with big data systems such as Hadoop and AccumuloExperience with database systemsProgramming skills in R, Java, Javascript, Python, Bash or similar Organizational SkillsAbility to prioritize work across multiple, competing tasks and invest time in ways that are most impactful to our Agile development teamComfort with doing work that supports clinicians in the field Experience using the Atlassian suite of tools The Ideal CandidateEnjoys a fast-paced and frank environment Collaborates easily to solve problems creatively and respectfully Adapts quickly to incorporate user insights and customer requirements Wants to have a hands-on impact on our product, culture and company Why You'll Like It HereCompetitive compensation, including equity.
