General Summary Under general administrative direction, the Nurse Manager is accountable for the delivery of patient care services which support the strategic plan of the organization and achieves clinical, financial and service quality objectives in one or more clinical units or care delivery sites in accordance within the scope of practice, professional, and regulatory standards. This role is accountable for the quality of clinical services delivered for the competency and performance of nursing staff and for designating and maintaining systems to support interdisciplinary team functioning. The Nurse Manager serves as a key participant in organizational teams and workgroups. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age, culture, ethnicity, and specific individual diagnostic needs of the patients served in his/her department. Serves as leader, role model, change agent, and operational manager of clinical and financial activities for in-patient Rehabilitation Unit. Oversees the provision of individualized patient care consistent with the mission and values of Kernan Hospital and in accordance within the scope of practice, professional, and regulatory standards. Accountable to leadership, health care team, patients and families for all processes and outcomes of in-patient Rehab Unit. Provides nursing leadership within the interdisciplinary team. What You Need to Be Successful: Education & Experience Requirements Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligibility for licensure due to Compact state agreement outlined through the MD Board of Nursing is required. CPR certification is required. Certification in area of specialty preferred BSN required. Master's degree with management coursework preferred Minimum of three to five years professional/supervisory experience involving competence in the clinical setting. Must have knowledge and proven performance in meeting professional standards. Demonstrated ability to assume administrative and clinical leadership role, Highly proficient skills in directing, managing and coaching the work of supervisory, clinical and support staff ; assigning work priorities; auditing work quality; orienting, educating and implementing professional standards,ctive participation in nursing professional organization preferred We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
