Summary

The incumbent serves as an Executive Producer for TV for the Hausa Service with responsibility for producing the news, entertainment and features programming for broadcasts across several TV distribution platforms.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Exercises sound journalistic judgment to determine TV content news worthiness, production appropriateness and balance.
  • Oversees daily productions and updates to TV broadcasts.
  • Develops and executes TV programming/production strategies to maximize traffic and user management.
  • Produces TV news-related stories for use in television or Internet posting. Prepares integrated, highly-targeted, well-balances scripts for television program/program segments or Internet we presentations that captures the attention of the audience.
  • Produces feature stories on a variety of subjects for television or web posting with the right equipment.

    Qualifications

    Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level which is directly related to this line of work AND fluency in the English and Hausa languages.

    Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

    Applicant's experience and fluency in the Hausa language must exhibit thorough knowledge of video/mobile and Internet broadcasting principles and practices by demonstration of the following: (1) Ability to target TV programs as well as digital content to the audience; (2) Skill using content management systems to locate, track and manage assets; and (3) Experience managing digital video content.
