Summary

This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, National Archives and Records Administration. As an EXECUTIVE SECRETARIAT SPECIALIST, you will provide a wide range of program management and administrative support services and serves as a liaison representing the Office of the Archivist and the Office of the Chief of Staff to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

As an EXECUTIVE SECRETARIAT SPECIALIST, you will:
-Receive, control, analyze, and assign to appropriate NARA program offices, and track and report on the status of all citizen mail referred to NARA from the White House Office of Agency Liaison, ensuring agency responsiveness and compliance with Administration timelines for response.
-Analyze recurring or new reporting requirements, assigning to the appropriate NARA program offices, tracking and reporting on report status, ensuring completion and coordination of reports, and providing liaison to program offices to support reporting efforts.
-Provide liaison and direct support to international allied archival, educational, historical, professional, scientific, and technical organizations and government officials as requested by agency leadership and dignitaries in line with priorities set by agency leadership and to advance partnership for the agency.
-Directs the day-to-day activities of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) (5 U.S.C. Appendix 2) program at NARA, representing the Committee Management Officer (CMO). Provides oversight to the Designated Federal Officers' (DFOs) activities, ensuring compliance with the FACA.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.   • Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
    For the GS-12: you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent. For this position, examples of specialized experience are:

    - Reviewing and editing reports, correspondence, or other materials dealing with technical, policy, and/or program issues for accuracy, adherence to policy, organization of material, appropriateness for intended audience and grammar; OR
    - Recommending policy or procedural changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of a program; OR
    - Interacting with executive level staff as well as developing relationships and collaborating with individuals internal and external to your work group.


    In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
    For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.

    CURRENT AND FORMER FEDERAL EMPLOYEES -- Documentation Relating to Your Federal Employment:

    You must submit an SF-50 which confirms both competitive status eligibility as well has highest grade/pay band level achieved. This may require that you submit more than one SF-50.
