We are currently looking for RF Engineers with working experience in LTE/4G and 5G for projects with a leading Network Operator. ** Must be able to post-process RF Drive Test data efficiently to qualify for this position ** Evaluate new feature performance related to for 1xRTT, eCSFB, LTE and EVDO technologies and its impact on existing system resources. Perform Baseline testing which benchmarks the network performance over the test area defined in the test plan prior to enabling new features or software releases. This includes operational measurement data collection during this time. Oversee and evaluate result of system evaluation test (often referred to as "no-harm" testing) of the 1xRTT, eCSFB, LTE and EVDO base software load and hardware installation. This includes over-the-air testing, in-building tests, and operational measurement collection during this time. Oversee functionality and performance testing of various wireless technologies performed by drive test engineer. This includes over-the-air testing, in-building tests, and operational measurement collection during this time. Advanced working Knowledge of 1xRTT, eCSFB, LTE and EVDO vendor parameters, scripting and processing of switch logs Optimization skills required include the identification and fixing of network problems related to voice and data performance pegs.Must know how to analyze layer 3 messaging and CDMA 1XRTT, EV-DO, and LTE call flow, including handoff between various technologies data calls. Ability to process and analyze drive test data, and make recommendations to correct performance problems involving data throughput, delay and packet loss or call drop. Ability to implement hard handoffs and troubleshoot neighbor list and search window issues.Must be familiar with processing data to evaluate UL and DL throughput, MCS allocation and reported CQI, time on band performance by RAT, frequency, carrier aggregation, non-carrier aggregation and transmission modes. This is a contract position. To be considered though, you must be eligible to work in the US. REQUIREMENTSIntimate knowledge of RF engineering, including: Radio propagation analysis and modeling. Data communication networks analysis including but not limited to throughput, latency, data rates, etc. Knowledge of CDMA 1XRTT, EV-DO, and LTE system operation and network overlay design scenarios, including colocation issues such as antenna sharing and configuration. Familiarity with packet data protocols, power and rate control schemes as well as radio resource scheduling techniques is essential. Ability to create reports and presentations using Microsoft word and Microsoft power point. Ability to present and discuss results of analysis. A BS Degree in Electrical Engineering is required, and an MS will be a plus. Experience with XCAL measurement tools for network optimization and XCAP/Windcatcher post processing tool is also required.
