POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Manager provides management and oversight for the following Business Office functions: the Accounting Department, which includes Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable; Payroll; Tuition collections; Buildings and Grounds; School Store; Production Room; and financial aid. The Business Manager coordinates and assists the Director of Finance in the preparation of all financial statements and other special reports as needed. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.* Supervise student billing and general accounting operations.* Supervise all incoming cash receipts and deposits.* Provide support in the hiring, training of accounting staff.* Supervise the Director of Facilities and assist with the creation and monitoring of the Campus Facility Plan* Assist Director of Finance in the preparation and monitoring of financial statements, department budgets and forecasts.* Communicate accounting policies to employees and ensure compliance with such policies* Prepare all periodic surveys and Peer reports* Assist Director of Finance with the annual financial audit.* Manage the facility rental process* Assist the President with Financial Aid Decisions and track and monitor all awards* Perform other related duties as assignedJOB REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION:* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting* Master's Degree and/or CPA preferred EXPERIENCE: * Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in non-profit accounting, including managerial experience* Blackbaud experience preferred SKILLS:* Must have strong organizational and analytical skills.* Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.* Must be able to work well with faculty, staff, parents and the community.
