SUMMARYThe Managing Director is an internal facing role who will work closely with the President to execute the largest voter registration campaign in the Latinx community. The Managing Director will ensure that all teams and members of the Voto Latino staff have the support, oversight, and resources they need to meet and exceed the organization's ambitious goals. This role is crucial to ensure the organization has set achievable goals, a strategic pathway to reaching them, is aligned and working together, and knows how to prioritize the work. This role will also help create and maintain a thriving, healthy and productive organizational culture, and work with team leads on best ways to manage staff. The Managing Director must have experience in 501(3) and 501c4. The Managing Director will help oversee and manage a $15 million budget cycle. This is not an administrative role; it is a highly strategic and facilitative one that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as a willingness to play an active, behind-the-scenes role. Responsibilities: The Managing Director will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for the following: Staff Management and SupportOversee all staff, including ongoing progress toward goals and overall performanceCreate good habits and standards for staff communicationEnsure all staff issues are addressed properly, efficiently and judiciously, and keep track of progress until resolvedWork with all staff to understand their needs and challenges, and convey feedback to CEOWork closely and regularly with the VP of Finance & HR to handle staffing and personnel issuesProvide mentorship and guidance to VPs and other team leads Executive Management and SupportAct as an adviser to the CEO and senior teamAssist CEO with decision-makingWork in partnership with the CFOWork closely with CEO and Executive Coordinator in planning for critical meetings, and ensure the principal is well-preparedSupport and facilitate the senior team's communications with the CEO Strategic Planning and Organizational DevelopmentCreate and oversee an iterative and inclusive strategic planning processActively monitor progress to goals in the strategic plan, and work with staff and teams to troubleshoot and get work back on track if milestones are not being metWork closely with the CEO and senior team to ensure that organizational initiatives and priorities are in line with strategy and brandAssess organizational strengths and weaknesses. Recommend and carry out plans to increase the organization's capacity and effectiveness Special Initiatives/ProjectsLead development, planning, implementation, and analysis of special initiatives that may ariseDevelop a framework to ensure that initiatives are in line with strategy and brand Required QualificationsA minimum of 10 years' experience managing staff, leading an organization, and/or leading strategic planning processesStrong background in campaign/political management and executionUnderstanding c3 and c4 work electoral workLikes to winWorked closely with a principle Ability to read and understand financials for the purpose of oversight and planningDemonstrated strategic leadership of large groups engaged in driving multiple efforts/initiatives at the same timeExperience conceptualizing and implementing internal systems and processesAbility to work creatively with teams to lead organizational transformation and change.Strong problem-solving and project management skillsStrong interpersonal communication skillsFun to work withAn understanding of and commitment to racial equity, gender equity, intersectionality, and inclusionA connection to or understanding of the Latinx communityLocated in Washington, DC, or willingness to relocate Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degreeCampaign or organizing experienceDeep understanding of digital mediaVoto Latino is highly metrics driven: Understanding of Catalyst, VAN Strong networking skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with individuals, organizations and government agencies and well as to work with diverse groups of people. SALARY & BENEFITS$140K-150K salary. Benefits include partial payment of medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums and 20 days of PTO.
