Job Summary/Company: Our client, a prominent government contractor, is seeking a seasoned Labor Relations Specialist to support consultative labor relations services at a federal agency. This individual will work on a small team to negotiate multiple collective bargaining agreements.   • Advise management on labor issues and grievance procedures for presentation at various levels
  • Provide management advisory services in the informal and formal resolution of grievances
  • Assure compliance of management and union representatives with the provisions of negotiated grievance procedures
  • Maintain productive correspondence between multiple parties to head off any issues that may be potentially controversial or adverse
  • Assist legal staff with preparing briefings and other materials for hearings

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • Knowledge of the principles, regulations, policies, concepts and practices governing Federal employee labor relations
  • Knowledge of applicable procedures necessary to participate in third party proceedings, impasses disputes, alternative dispute resolutions, unfair labor practices charges and other daily negotiations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, specifically in developing and presenting arguments for the acceptance of controversial points of view
  • Ability to maintain and establish effective relationships with clients
