Responsibilities

  • You will validate, adjust and synchronize system controls and interfaces used or related analyses.
  • You will advise supervisor of equipment deficiencies and recommend the purchase or acquisition of optical equipment or related accessories.
  • You will provide technical assistance and instruction to optical production personnel in the maintenance and operation of equipment.
  • You will provide technical counsel on codes to ensure compliance with electrical safety and equipment operations standards.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Medical Equipment Repairer, WG-4805-11 without more than normal supervision such as:

Troubleshoot and calibrate pneumatic and electronic computer-controlled robotic and multi-axis optical fabrication production equipment.

Use precision measuring instruments such as digital gages, meters, digital lens measuring devices, hand and power tools and complex electronic and electromechanical test and measuring equipment using integrated test functions.

Interpret engineering and vendor technical manuals, schematic diagrams and graphic illustrations.

Provide systematic preventive maintenance program for complex integrated production and related optical fabrication equipment.

Coordinate and evaluate work performed by service contractors including maintenance, calibration, installation and verification of service documentation.
