Summary of Position: Dustin Construction is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator. Primary job functions of this position consist of managing the day-to-day project needs for hard bids, preconstruction, and budget pricing, while multi-tasking and prioritizing project tasks. Job Duties - This list serves to provide a general understanding of the Estimator role and does not serve as an all-inclusive list of the duties of the position. . Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. . Perform takeoffs from drawings and specifications. . Produce cost estimates for hard bids, construction budgets, and design build projects. . Prepare and assemble all required documents for bid submission. . Review and compare all subcontractor bids for accuracy and best price submissions. . Maintain, foster, and develop subcontractor relationships. . Write and compile RFI's. . Research and identify potential job opportunities. . Utilize existing historical cost data and unit prices to evaluate estimates. . Prepare bid spreadsheet to ensure all project scopes are covered and included in cost estimate. . Identify value engineering opportunities. . Negotiate scopes and award contracts. . Attend pre-bid meetings. . Attend networking/construction events and represent company in a courteous and professional manner. Required Skills Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience required. Must have experience estimating projects ranging from $5 Million up to $100 Million or between. Must have excellent written, verbal, and computer skills. Must be detail-oriented, well organized, a team player, and able to prioritize duties to meet assigned deadlines. Able to communicate clearly and effectively. Possess resourcefulness and ability to track down information quickly and accurately. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Must be able to work well within a deadline driven environment and be willing to work evenings and/or weekends if needed to complete projects. Must have a valid driver's license with less than 2 points and be able to travel as needed. Possess knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must be able to lift 30lbs. on a regular basis.
