Engineering Manager - CRMAs an Engineering Manager on Compass's CRM team, you will lead a small engineering team to build frontend and backend systems that help real estate agents connect with the buyers and sellers in their professional networks. You will work closely with our product team to bring our technology vision to life for both agents and consumers. You will use your strong technical skills to mentor team members and drive engineering excellence. You find immense value in the success of your team, emphasizing collaboration and facilitating continuous learning and improvement for the team and its members. You believe in continuously improving operational processes and procedures.At Compass You Will Be a domain expert on real estate technology and products and an empathetic partner to our customers Lead the planning and development of multiple scalable and performant frontend and backend systems. Split your time evenly amongst contributing technically, managing the lifecycle of projects, and mentoring your team. Inspire, recruit and mentor your engineering colleagues. Foster a culture of open, trusting, constructive relationships amongst the engineering team Lead by example in a scalable engineering culture that leverages modern principles of decoupled systems and automated CI/CD/testing/monitoring to drive efficiencies. Continually champion improvement by identifying ways to raise the quality bar of the team and systems around you. What We Look For 5+ years of software engineering experience and 2+ years of leading teams in some capacity In-depth experience in designing, developing, and maintaining web applications, distributed backend systems or data platforms Experience with Go, Ruby on Rails, React, Microservices, PostgreSQL, AWS preferred Excellent communication skills, utilized to collaborate both within Engineering and across all functions of the company to drive engineering initiatives Excellent mentoring and review skills to help engineers make technical and career progress Willingness to have hard conversations to help others grow into the best version of themselves.
