Learn more at navient.com.The Financial Analyst, Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR), supports the development, maintenance and production of the Company's internal and external financial reporting processes performed for the Controller's/Finance Organization of Navient. The CFR team is a highly visible team, whose primary role is to report and analyze the Company's monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial and segment results, which are the basis for the Company's required external reporting to its shareholders, the Securities and Exchange Commission, its executive management team and its board of directors to enable accurate, efficient, and optimal financial management and decision making.The Financial Analyst, CFR, is a self-starter who is highly organized and motivated to make a meaningful contribution to the team's advancement and success. The incumbent will balance multiple tasks and responsibilities and must work across the organization, interacting with other finance and accounting personnel at various levels to gather relevant information for reporting and analysis purposes. The Financial Analyst, CFR, communicates efficiently and effectively and asks relevant questions to better his/her understanding, and is prepared to handle changing priorities, deadline pressure and heavy workloads during periods of peak activity.Essential Job Functions:1. Financial Reporting and AnalysisSupport the monthly production, reporting and analysis of the Company's consolidated financial results.Support the monthly analysis and research of consolidated financial result changes for senior executives, comparing actual financial results versus both prior periods and forecasted financial results.Provide insight on the main drivers/trends impacting earnings variances, net interest margin changes, revenue and operating expense changes and other earnings analytics.Assist in the preparation and compilation of the Company's monthly earnings results presentations for executive management.Assist in the preparation of materials for the Company's earnings and Investor Relations' presentations.2. Segment Financial Reporting and AnalysisSupport the monthly production, reporting and analysis of the Company's segment financial results.Support the monthly analysis and research of segment financial result changes for senior executives, comparing actual financial results versus both prior periods and forecasted financial results.Provide insight on the main drivers/trends impacting segment earnings variances, net interest margin changes, revenue and operating expense changes and other earnings analytics.Make recommendations for and implement segment model enhancements to increase efficiency, automation and streamline reporting and analysis.3. Net Interest Margin Modeling, Reporting and AnalysisSupport the monthly production, reporting and analysis of the Company's loan spreads and net interest margins by loan type.Support the monthly analysis and research of net interest margin result changes for senior executives, comparing actual results versus both prior periods and forecasted results.Make recommendations for and implement loan product net interest margin modeling enhancements to increase efficiency, automation and streamline reporting and analysis.4. Ad-Hoc RequestsPerform ad-hoc analyses and special projects for senior and executive management.Assist in the semi-annual testing of internal controls.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree - Accounting or Finance Preferred1-2+ years of experience in financial analysis, corporate accounting and/or public accountingExpertise in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and WordPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience with financial modeling and standards of practiceWorking knowledge of Essbase and Oracle/PeopleSoft All offers of employment are contingent on standard background checks.
