This position is located in the United States Mint, Numismatic and Bullion Directorate, Sales Division, Sales Operations Branch. The Sales Division functions as the primary touch point for the U.S. Mint's numismatic customers, handling overall sales order and fulfillment operations.

As a Sales Operations Manager, you will:
  • Maintain responsibility for conceiving and developing new initiatives to ensure maximization of profitability, increase in customer satisfaction, growth of customer base, and decrease in total operational costs.
  • Monitor vendor performance of various programs and tasks (sales by units, revenue, number of orders, carrier analysis, shipping distribution; and program effectiveness, sales profitability, trends, etc.); analyze results and make adjustments in order to meet established targets.
  • Provide technical supervision and guidance for all sales operations services, and special projects. These services directly impact customer satisfaction, shipping options and conditions, delivery timeframes (order and fulfillment cycle times), and the success of all numismatic programs.
  • Receive and evaluate periodic reviews performed by staff on the shipping and handling costs charged to customers and determine need for increase/decrease, margin for use as shipping promotions in order to increase sales; and vendor services performed to determine appropriate increase/decrease in resources, scope, and/or budget.

The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.

For the GS-14, you must have one year of experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent that is directly related to the position. Specialized experience is defined as Supervising staff in at least one of three key areas:

-Managing multiple retail sales locations OR

-Oversight of vendor provided distribution center services, OR

-Growing a customer base.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
