Responsibilities

Receives and refers clients and telephone calls. Interviews clients to determine how the TRP-FMEAP can serve their needs. Assists in the development of new or modified program objectives and policies. Provides daily orientations in the use of TRP-FMEAP either on an individual basis or in groups. Maintains a current resource library list for programs.

Assists clients in locating specific materials and in check out/turn in of resources. Makes suggestions regarding additions to the library based on interviews with clients. Maintains and tracks library inventory and check-out database. Provides resume writing assistance and reviews for clients. Assists in facilitating Pre-Separation Counseling Briefs, TRP classes and employment-related workshops, briefings, and seminars to include, but not limited to career fairs and special events. Conducts Capstone Review appointments as scheduled. Serves as liaison with the Unit Transition Coordinators (UTC), and appropriate unit representatives for all transition requirements and registration procedures. Schedules Marines and family members for transition and employment readiness workshops and seminars. Contacts participants for attendance confirmation and maintains registration rosters, evaluations and client records annually. Coordinates the use of classrooms for yearly training provided. Submits program workshops and events to MCCS Marketing for advertisement and distribution purposes.

Inputs and retrieves data from automated systems. Provides instructions for computer usage and oversight of clients using automated systems. Maintains client database and prepares statistical reports for Program Manager. Provides limited programming services and advises on computer applications, requirements and limitations. Performs other data automation and generalized support duties. Performs all administrative functions necessary to support TRP and FMEAP. Establishes and maintains office files and client records. Collects, compiles and analyzes information/data and reports findings. Receives and distributes correspondence. Ensures the maintenance of client information inventory and supply areas. Assists in supply requisitions, pick up, distribution and accurate inventory of all program/office materials. Retrieves, sorts and distributes mail. Submits all facilities requests for Building 21. Promotes and publicizes program to include written publications and personal contacts. Tracks job openings with public, private, state and federal organizations. Updates and maintains TRP-FMEAP informational

bulletin boards. Provides support services to TRP-FMEAP staff for workshops, briefings, publicity and marketing.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

Minimum of three years of experience in, or related to, administration, career and education planning/advising, facilitation, and customer service. Understanding of military lifestyle, and the objectives, components, and interplay of military family support programs.

Must have extensive knowledge of the functional capabilities of different software types in order to adapt, modify or improve services provided to clients. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to include participation at briefings, professional conferences, and training workshops. Ability to interpret and apply Department of Defense and Navy and Marine Corps Orders, regulations and policy instructions. Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office to include, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. Skill with form development, filing and other miscellaneous office procedures is required.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license in order to drive occasionally in the local area. Travel is required to attend meetings, conference, and training seminars.

Must be able to set up and carry basic classroom equipment. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 40 lbs may be required.
