Title: Manager, Internal ProgramsReports to: Director, Events and ProgrammingObjectiveOur objective is to advance Heritage's mission and strategic goals by producing events that convene thought leaders and influencers, are relevant to our policy priorities, and increase Heritage's standing as the most influential think-tank.Job Summary: The Manager of Internal Programs is responsible for managing the Internal Programs team through the planning and execution of approximately 150 in-house programs per year. This individual provides innovative, entrepreneurial thinking to the overarching Event team's strategy to advance Heritage's mission, building a talented Internal Programs team, and designing dynamic programming and event experiences in collaboration with internal partners in alignment with Heritage's strategic goals and policy priorities.Job DutiesProgramming & Content Development - includes creating and managing the process to identify the right mix of programs with the right audiences in alignment to Heritage's strategic plan and policy priorities and driving impact in public policy. Leads programming discussions and content development with internal and external partners including pre-event logistics, briefings and walk through meetings. Stays abreast of Heritage strategic plan, policy priorities, product launches, and anniversaries to build programming that is timely and relevant. Also helps to advise other events teams on programming ideas, speakers and content.Production Management - includes overseeing the planning of approximately 150 in-house programs, developing first-rate attendee experiences for onsite and virtual attendees, crafting timelines for programs with AV queues in partnership with the audiovisual team, and coordinating press and/or livestream strategy with the communications team.Event Metrics & Assessments - includes working with stakeholders to set goals for each event and conduct post-event evaluations and assessments. Supports stakeholders in conducting after action reviews, compiling post event reports, and survey results.Programs Schedule - includes overseeing the schedule of programs for Heritage and ensuring the schedule is communicated through the appropriate outlets such as the intranet, Heritage Reservations System, Confidential Calendar, etc. Provide the Director of Events with a weekly rundown of events featuring top highlights for the Management Meeting.External Partner Space Rentals - includes managing the logistics from start to finish for 3rd party space rentals including billing, programming, and space allotment while coordinating with internal partners and assuring that the program is in alignment with Heritage's mission.Team Management - includes managing the Internal Programs team with a small team of full-time employees including their performance management, professional development, goal setting and quarterly, mid-year, end-of-year reports as needed.Team Budget & Expenses - includes exhibiting strong stewardship of Heritage's resources by developing and managing the Internal Programs team budget and expenses, providing financial reporting, and approving team expense reports.Skill FactorsExperience: 5-10 years of experience in event programing, production, marketing. Management experience is required. Experience in strategic planning and goal setting is required.Education: BA/BS minimum.Computer: Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook suite, and ability to learn new software.Special Skills/RequirementsStrong and effective written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely to disparate audiences enterprise-wideExcellent critical thinking skills and ability to handle emergency situations, demonstrating sound judgment under pressureExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail; proven ability to handle multiple projects while setting appropriate priorities to achieve goalsEntrepreneurial mindset and a strong sense of teamwork.Demonstrated history of budgeting, financial management, and financial reporting skillsUnderstand and support the Heritage mission and vision for America, and the team's goals and objectivesAvailability to work nights and weekends when necessary8QvhQfU2GY
