Job DescriptionWhat is a General Manager?A General Manager must be committed to inspiring our team, helping our Customers succeed and growing our business with integrity. Professional level sales and management position capable of supporting functions on both sides of the business. The role requires understanding of store systems, automotive systems, parts knowledge and has the ability to identify, troubleshoot and project assist for DIY. Responsible for developing and maintaining Professional Customer relationships and program growth. Is accountable for achieving financial metrics and maintaining service and appearance standards. Position is exempt and requires a minimum of 50-55 hours per week (excluding meal break periods). The average schedule is 5-6 days a week, 11 hour shifts, including rotating nights and weekends, with an hour for lunch. Additional hours may be required based on staffing, store conditions, sales to target, and other business demands. General Managers are required to work a schedule based on the needs of the business.Store ManagerAI Title: Store Manager Workday Job Profile: General Manager IIJob Description:Primarily responsible for sales and the gross profit of those sales. Also oversees all functions of store operations, which include personnel, inventory, payroll, fleet maintenance and all customer service related areas. Sources stock sells and coordinates deliveries of auto parts to local installers and other potential sellers of parts. Advise staff of new or revised information on products, such as product capability, pricing, credit, warranties, and shipping. Duties & responsibilities:Strive to exceed store sales and GP expectations and focus on increasing the bottom lineMaximize sales potential through identifying new ways to drive salesWork with DM and sales force on marketing a business strategy to increase businessEnsure that service standards are high and that complaints are quickly resolvedResponsible for motivating, hiring and firing of store employees and all personnel related paperworkContinually train and coach store personnel thru both positive reinforcement and constructive criticismTrain assistant manager so he/she can cover when the manager is absentMaintain proper inventory levels through ordering, returns and proper analysisEnsure timely deliveries through dispatching and use of two way radios/pagersMake sure customers are receiving credit copies of returns in a timely mannerMake sure all vendor returns are done correctly and returned properlyEnsure inventory integrity and minimize shrinkageGet daily paperwork to office in a timely mannerAssist corporate departments with any questions or concerns they may haveSet both long term as well as short term goals for the store and employees.Conduct performance evaluations periodically and constantly communicate and reinforce proper behavior and performanceConstantly keep vehicles in good shape and promote safety to all driversMaintain cataloging integrityComplete end of month proceduresCreate work schedules for drivers on a weekly basisConducts weekly meetings with drivers.Make sure bank deposits are being done dailyConstantly communicate with team members and encourage smooth communication flow between all employees and company departmentsOpenly support and enforce all company policies, procedures, and guidelinesDelegate responsibilities in order to reduce the work load as well as to qualify counter peopleInspire team work and lead by exampleQualifications:The Qualities and qualifications, which will make a person successful in this position, are:Past experience in the automotive industryOperations experience with full P&L responsibility is required.Demonstrate strong managerial skillsResults drivenHighly energeticGoal orientedSelf-motivated who can also motivate othersHave a positive team-player attitude.Ability to work in a multi-task and fast paced environmentExcellent selling skillsSense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfactionMust be at least 21 years old, licensed for at least 3 years; and have an acceptable driving recordPhysical Requirements/Working Conditions:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
