Job Description Description SAIC is seeking experienced professionals to join the National Security Customer Group (NSCG) in our Chantilly, VA office. NSCG provides specialized program management, engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground. NSCG has an opening for an engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory services to an Intelligence Community research and development (R&D) customer. The customer is developing the next-generation of spacecraft architectures, hardware and software solutions for the IC. This position will drive the future of high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in the next generation of spacecraft architectures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Support to acquisition, source selection and programmatic processes, to include requirements decomposition, requirements verification and validation and evaluate technical alternatives, including cost and risk for space systems - Perform systems engineering and integration oversight for space borne architectures -Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications - Explore and develop new missions operational concepts (CONOPs), mission threads and architectures to solve some of the hardest intelligence and defense problems through cross-organization outreach - Advise on issues of feasibility and applicability of relevant new HPC technologies to future satellite architectures and spacecraft concepts - Develop documents and briefings to communicate work on study status, brief government and industry as required Qualifications - Active TS/SCI w/poly - Bachelor degree in engineering, science, or related discipline - 15 years experience, with 5+ years experience in HPC, AI, Neuromorphic Computing or ML concepts, services, hardware and technologies - Knowledge and experience in systems engineering, systems integration processes, and project management - Experience with acquisition life cycle and requirements processes - Experience with schedule, technical, and risk aspects of space systems and/or ground systems - Working knowledge of MS Office applications - Aptitude for on-site Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) work - Effective customer engagement, interpersonal communications, writing, and briefing skills - Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and team environment Desired Qualifications - Advanced degree in engineering, science, or related discipline - Experience in one or more of the following: * High-performance computing architectures or programming * AI/ML algorithms and frameworks like Pytorch, TensorFlow, etc. * Data processing experience, preferably in the ISR domain * Satellite systems development, integration and testing * Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) or the Intelligence Community (IC) R&D organizations SAIC is a premier technology integrator, solving our nation's most complex modernization and systems engineering challenges across the defense, space, federal civilian, and intelligence markets.
