Job Description Description SAIC is seeing an experienced Systems Engineer SETA with Network concentration. The successful applicant must provide technical expertise, continuity of effort and value-added judgment to advise customer leadership on program activities. JOB DESCRIPTION: * Performs Systems Engineering activities including: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system & op. performance analysis, Lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis (PCA) . * May design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain networks and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities. * Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. * Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. * Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. * Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications. * Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Qualifications Clearance required to start: TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance to remain on program: TS/SCI with Polygraph TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience Required: * Understanding of secure communications network LAN/WAN design and operation at layers 1 through 3 of the protocol stack * Good communications skills pertaining to secure network LAN/WAN design * Ability to understand and/or interpret network requirements and impacts * Understanding of NRO networks, and how they connect to other IC Partners' networks * Ability to use Microsoft Products (PowerPoint, Word, MS Project, and Visio) Desired Qualifications SAIC is a premier technology integrator, solving our nation's most complex modernization and systems engineering challenges across the defense, space, federal civilian, and intelligence markets.
