As an electrical engineer, you understand the power behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to supporting the military in pursuing distributed generation, renewable energy, and microgrid goals. We're looking for an electrical engineer who can use their skills to perform detailed analysis on electric infrastructure and provide solutions in the areas of distributed generation integration, smart grid implementation, microgrid implementation, and utility investment strategy. Our team implements energy assurance projects on military installations. That's why we need you, an electrical engineer, who specializes in electric utility power systems to help us design and develop energy resilient solutions. You'll analyze electric distribution systems and utility substations to identify gaps between the baseline infrastructure and the energy requirements of mission owners. You'll directly impact the DoD mission by ensuring that mission owners have access to energy when they need it. Join us and take on exciting challenges with the military, as we provide resilient energy solutions in support of the DoD mission.You Have:-3+ years of experience in the electric power and utilities industry-Experience with the analysis or design of electric distribution systems in the 12.47kV-34.5kV range, power generation systems, or utility substations-Experience with applying engineering theories, standards, concepts, resources, and techniques-Experience self-driving complex projects independently and on larger project teams involving engineering and analytical studies while working in a team-oriented environment-Experience in one or more of the following areas: power systems, microgrids, renewable energy systems, energy storage, or advanced control systems-Knowledge of electrical utility power equipment, methods, and developments in engineering-Ability to interpret and analyze electric single line diagrams-Ability to travel to work sites up to 25% of the time-Ability to obtain a security clearance-BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Energy EngineeringNice If You Have:-Experience with developing and analyzing conceptual electrical single-line diagrams and associated Rough Oder of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates-Experience in renewable energy power generation, battery energy storage systems, and integration with distributed generation systems-Experience in islandable microgrids for delivering energy resilience with considerations for capital cost, maintainability, and target performance-Experience with DoD infrastructure, facilities, and organizations-Experience with using load flow or power simulation software-Experience with communicating technical designs and concepts to a non-technical audience-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills-MA or MS degree in Engineering or a related field-Completion of undergraduate or graduate coursework in electric power systems-Professional Engineering License (PE)Clearance:Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
