The next generation of information systems is emerging. SNC nContext has pioneered the big data processing and analytics space for over a decade. We continue to evolve our open architectures to enable real time data ingest and processing of large volumes of data ensuring that the best of commercial and government platforms are maximizing performance for our customers. Over the past five years, we have experimented and implemented various data science tools, algorithms and machine learning to enable autonomous processing of information, provision of insights and queuing to the operators. We re looking for entry level team oriented technology enthusiasts to join us at our Herndon, VA location. The Systems Engineer will work in support of a distributed government simulation and proof-of-concept program. The Systems Engineer will support integration of multiple components and collaboration with government and other team members. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Perform activities in support of Design simulations for DoD systems that include sensor and weapon platforms allowing agile component updates. Support integration of algorithms for object detection and geolocation from sensor systems using standardized machine-to-machine data messages. Develop validation tests for algorithm performance and component integration. Proof-of-concept demonstration of machine-to-machine coordination with DoD assets integrated into the simulated scenario. Create technical documentation to include Concept of Operations, Requirements, Exercise Evaluation Plan and Results, and Program Status as needed to support the program. Participate in an agile implementation process. Create models of systems and interactions. REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: 3-6 years of systems engineering experience. BS degree or higher in systems engineering, mathematics, physics or related technical field. Knowledge of model based systems engineering. Ability to prototype algorithms and analyze algorithm performance. Working Knowledge of architecture modeling and modeling & simulation. Experience writing technical documentation, such as white papers, test plans or analysis of alternatives. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team. The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Security Clearance required PREFERRED SKILLS: Experience in machine-to-machine messaging including Cursor-on-Target and OpenSAF. Experience with geospatial coordinate systems and their conversions. Experience with DoD simulation data models. Experience with cloud architectures. Active Security Clearance IMPORTANT NOTICE: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Security Clearance. US Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active US Security Clearance for employment. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
