Qualifications
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11), which is directly related to this line of work.
Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized Experience is defined as: Demonstrated broad working knowledge of technologies used in the distribution of television programming and ability to apply that knowledge such that personnel and facilities are used appropriately to achieve the desired results; knowledge and expertise to advise and consult with program producers and other language staff; comprehension of operational procedures, for the efficient and effective utilization of the master control facilities; knowledge of the domestic and international common carriers that are used to transmit and receive programs via satellite or terrestrial circuits in order to coordinate remote interconnects that are integral to the production process.
Education
Applicant cannot substitute education for experience.

Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintains quality control of audio and video signals prior to and during transmission and/or recording of satellite or other system feeds
- Ensures programming material airs as scheduled.
- Troubleshoots and takes corrective action, using appropriate methods to enhance signal quality using available equipment.
- Assures the quality of all material recorded into the media server, regardless of their origin as manually ingested, or daily-automated records.
- Operates video recording and playback equipment as well as automated video playout and video fileserver systems.
