Facilities Management at the University of Maryland, College Park, seeks experienced Plumber and Plumber Specialists to support the plumbing needs of the campus, to include maintenance of the University’s total underground and inside building distribution systems. The University of Maryland, College Park (Home of the Maryland Terrapins) is an internationally recognized research university with many nationally ranked programs. These positions offer the candidates the opportunity to use their existing trade skills and to acquire new knowledge in our unique environment.

Qualifications: Plumber – 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the plumbing trade. Maryland State certification as a licensed plumber. Must be a Journeyman WSSC- licensed Plumber/Gasfitter. Certified w/cross-connect back flow certification.  Plumber Specialist – 6 years of progressively responsible experience in the plumbing and pipe fitting trade, experience with maintenance of hot water system/components. Must have Maryland State certification as a license plumber and a Master plumbing license. For both positions, candidates must possess and maintain a valid Class "C" driver's license with fewer than 6 points

Work hours are Mon-Fri 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM & Mon-Fri 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM

Salary/Benefits:  Commensurate with experience with the Plumber salary range beginning at

$45,432 and the Plumber Specialist salary range beginning at $51,949. Position is Essential and subject to a 24-hour/7-day/week span of operation. Benefits include health, dental, vision and prescription insurance plans, tuition remission for employees and dependents, and participation in the State pension system.
