Ballard Spahr LLP is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) with real estate finance experience to join our housing practice in the Washington DC office. The ideal candidate is someone who is energetic, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and understands the cycle of a real estate transaction. The selected individual work within a team of LAAs to liaison between attorneys, project assistants, paralegals and clients.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to preparing loan closing documentation, organizing files for delivery, overseeing post-closing follow up, time entry, billing and calendaring.Applicants must have the ability to work effectively both independently, as well as, within a team to assist attorney in the production of transactional documents. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently under specific time constraints. The selected individual must possess top-notch organizational skills, good communication skills and have excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills. Intermediate level skills working with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems. Must be able to work overtime, when needed.Ideal candidates for this position will have 2-3 years of commercial real estate experience with a law firm, title company, mortgage company or other related entity. Previous experience with loan closings or Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac or HUD loans, a plus. Ballard Spahr is not accepting resumes from search firms for this position.
