Responsibilities:Preparation of superior quality electrical construction documents including drawings, specifications, and reports. Perform quality work that promotes client retention.Performing site survey of existing system conditions for interface of new designs with existing electrical and control systems.Design of Electrical systems including: low/medium voltage power distribution, standby/emergency generators, interior/exterior lighting for buildings, local area IT networks, access control, security, and fire alarm systems. Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical floor plans, equipment schematic diagrams, equipment block diagrams, electrical load calculations, short circuit studies, protective device coordination studies, and arc flash studies.Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all building systems.Close coordination with the client and the entire design team, including owners, architects, contractors, members of other disciplines, and internal support staff to ensure:the design is consistent with the client's vision/standardsa fully coordinated interdisciplinary designthe design schedule is maintainedPlay an active role in project meetings with clients and colleagues.Provide mentoring and guidance for colleagues.Travel required at times; based on job (status, progress, etc.) & employees willingness to travel.The above list is intended to describe the general requirements of this job and is in no way to be construed as exhaustive. Minimum Qualifications:4 year degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.Possess Professional Engineer (PE) licenses in Electrical Engineering.Electrical power design experience is required.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Exceptional organizational skills with ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks.Capable of grasping and retaining electrical design principles and working independently.Desire to work in a fast-paced team environment to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit. Preferred Qualifications:Seven to ten years of previous Electrical design experience with an MEP engineering consultant.Proficiency in applying requirements of National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards, energy codes, and other applicable codes.Project management and leadership skills, capable of driving the successful completion of projects is a plus.Experience in Power Studies, such as Short Circuit Study, Coordination Study, and Arc Flash Analysis is preferred.Security and communication design experience.Able to work with minimal supervision.LEED Certified.
