To assist in developing and executing strategies designed to preserve the value of mortgage loans exposed to market risk and to maximize mortgage loan sales profits.Responsibilities* Analyze mortgage-related data, reports produced from risk management system, and real-time market information obtained via market sources such as Bloomberg, TradeWeb and system vendor market services* Provide tactical and strategic ad hoc reporting using SQL- and VBA-based systems to provide additional information needed to effectively manage the hedging, sales, and securitization of mortgage loans Moderately* Monitor and analyze mortgage market and economic conditions to recommend opportunities to increase loan sales profits or reduce risk; presents daily global economic updates, anticipated impact on hedging strategy and recommendations for action plans* Enter trade executions into risk management systems and related databases; continually tracks and monitors the portfolio of existing trades to ensure trade positions are reflected accurately; prepares and processes trade assignment agreements with broker/dealers to ensure optimal daily execution; monitors team's transaction entries and fees recorded in the General Ledger* Perform the daily, monthly, and quarterly maintenance of the automated risk management framework (QRM)Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities* Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or Statistics, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience* Advanced word processing and spreadsheet software skills* Advanced skill performing mathematical calculations and working accurately with numbers* Ability to apply logic, integrity, initiative and judgment to make sound decisions* Effective research, analytical, and problem solving skills* Effective skill communicating, verbally or in writing, across all levels of an organization* Experience in SQL, VBA, and process scripting software* Advanced database and presentation software skills* Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills* Ability to work independently and in a team environmentDesired* Master's Degree in Finance, Economics, or Statistics, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience* Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation* Experience using the Mortgage Banking Risk Framework (QRM)* Experience in a Secondary Marketing-related position, including: secondary market data analysis, mortgage pipeline hedging, risk management practices, and management reporting.* Working knowledge of mortgage banking accounting issues related to origination, secondary marketing and mortgage servicing* Experience in mortgage accounting and financial concepts and their application* Working Knowledge of Navy Federal mortgage products, services, programs, policies and procedures* Effective skill to influence, negotiate and persuade to reach agreeable exchange and positive outcomesHours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pmLocation: 820 Folin Lane, Vienna, VA 22180Equal Employment Opportunity Navy Federal values, celebrates, and enacts diversity in the workplace.
