The Position: Accounting Manager - Global Finance, Derivatives AccountingJob Overview:The Global Finance area supports all our Client's worldwide financial activities, including corporate-level financial reporting, internal control, intercompany and tax activities. Within Global Finance, the Treasury Accounting team is seeking a high-energy and forward-thinking professional to join them as a Manager focused on Derivatives Accounting.As a member of the Treasury Accounting team, you're solid on your accounting principles and feel comfortable owning the accounting process end-to-end. You're a self-starter who continually looks for ways to improve what our Client does and how we do it, including embracing new technologies. You have a great attention to detail and feel comfortable diving into the numbers to provide in-depth analysis to various business partners. Most importantly, you're a team player that comes ready to uplift others and make our Client a great company and a great place to work.Major Responsibilities:Partner with Capital Market team(s) to develop and assess hedging strategiesManage monthly close activities related to derivatives activities and present month-end results to managementIdentify and drive opportunities to centralize, eliminate, automate or outsource activitiesPerform ad-hoc business analysis on derivative portfolio(s) to identify variances / trends to communicate to management and business partner team(s)Perform technical research on treasury accounting issues and prepare write-ups; draft and/or review treasury-related information in the 10-K, 10-Q, earnings release and other regulatory filings for accuracy.Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SEC regulations and other regulatory guidance.Partner with project management and business partner teams, to design and implement new business product / program initiatives and processesLead coordination of internal audit review and SOX complianceAd-hoc requests and special projectsCoach and manage associatesCharacteristics our Client is looking for:Team player capable of interacting cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization and capable of taking ownershipAdaptive to change, new ideas and able to prioritize with minimal directionPassion for improvement and a desire to keep learning with what new technology can offer to rethink the possible, including data transformation, BI tools and automation scripting (eg, Python)Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and experience with accounting of financial instrumentsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or military experienceMUST BE A US CITIZEN OR POSSESS A GREEN CARDAt least 6 years of accounting experience, at least 6 years of financial reporting experience, at least 6 years of audit experience, or a combinationAt least 1 year of people management experienceCertified Public Accounting (CPA) certificationPreferred Qualifications:Master's of Accountancy and/or Master's of Business Administration (MBA) and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or Financial Risk Manager (FRM)3+ years of experience in banking, 3+ years of experience in financial services, or 3+ years in a professional services firm serving clients in large banks (preferably gained with one of the "Big 4")Willingness to Travel - Occasionally
