OverviewAllied Reliability is currently looking for Precision Process Technicians (PPT) to work for a manufacturer in the Edgewood, MD area. Successful candidates will operate metal working equipment and other related facilities to machine and form honeycomb materials to specified dimensions and tolerance. Responsible for finish, quality, packaging, labeling, and any other attributes necessary to ensure that only highest quality product is delivered to the next worker and to the customer.Responsibilities Manufactures parts to customer specification with the use of work orders, sketches and process sheets. Documents process steps specified by the Special Process part traveler. Layout and planform parts by using templates and mylars. Layout and rout pockets, chamfers, and undercut within work order tolerance. Proficient with the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, height gauges, tapes,scales and protractors.) Operates saws, expanders, hand routers, slotter, sealers, roll formers, and ovens. Stabilize core in accordance with established procedures. Layout, planform, dry fit, layup and bond per established procedures In the absence of the oven operator, operate oven per established procedure. Performs routine operator level preventative maintenance, organize, clean, and maintain tools, equipment, product, and supplies to ensure highest possible standards of cleanliness in accordance with established company procedures and Form B requirements. Other duties as assignedQualificationsQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. One to three years of similar work in a manufacturing environment where hand forming, carving, or hand tool machining of light gauge or delicate materials is required. Exposure to close tolerance work, typically on the order of a few thousandths of an inch and use of calipers or micrometers.EQUIPMENT OPERATION Tools and/or equipment that may be operated includes: do-all band saws, fly cutter, slotter, ovens, hot melt glue guns, air powered cutting and sanding hand tools, roll forming presses, calipers and micrometers, tape measure, ruler and protractor. Basic computer skills for application of statistical process control and data entry. Forklift operator's license desirable. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Requires solid verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills enabling involvement in a cross-functional, quality driven team environment. A positive, \'Can do\' attitude fueled with initiative, dedication, neatness, sense of urgency, and concern for the satisfaction of customers, both internal and external. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as, temperature, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and dimension. Candidate must possess the capacity to understand blueprints, as well as complex and detailed instructions and bills of material. Must accurately read measuring tape.REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
