Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the WorldLegal Assistant ITHIS IS AN SCA POSITIONJob Description- Legal Assistant I: To support document review, court filing, and general records management for the Board of Immigration Appeals- Certification Unit.This position supports the DOJ- Executive Office for Immigration Review- Board of Immigration Appeals. The primary purpose of the position is to facilitate acquisition of immigration court records for certification and upload to various Federal Circuit Courts. Attention to detail and an understanding of litigation is essential. Tasks will include but not be limited to:Properly formatting of legal documents , thoroughly reviewing documents, proofreading said documents for punctuation, spelling, and grammar, and producing final documents that are error free. Accurately prepare appropriate legal documents in final form in accordance with rules governing style and format. Prepare necessary copies of documents, addenda, and record material for filing with Courts and for service on counsel.Requirements:Must be able to obtain a Governmental Security ClearanceMinimum of 2 years' experience in the legal fieldKnowledge and ability to perform records redactions with direct supervisionHigh attention to detail;Ability to communicate effectively in both orally and in writingAbility to work effectively under strict time constraints and/or deadlinesData entry - Microsoft office application knowledgeMicrosoft Word skillsGood organizational skillsGood communication skillsHigh school diploma requiredCollege education, legal background, or paralegal certificate preferredLifting (up to 50 lbs)Time Type: Full TimePrimary Location: 5107 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA.
