NAS PAX RIVER CMT FIELD TECH Job Type: Full Time Non-Exempt HIRING NOW! -URGENT NEED Specialized Engineering is seeking an experienced construction materials technician with solid experience testing concrete, asphalt, soil samples. This is a long term assignment projected at 18 months. Work location Patuxent River Maryland- Naval Air Station. Selected candidate will conduct materials testing and inspection. Project will include construction of the UClass RDT&E hanger structure on an air station, new taxiways, parking facilities and underground utility installations. This is an immediate need with an immediate start date. Summary: Conducts tests and field observations for construction materials, including soil, concrete, asphalt, reinforcing steel, foundations, and masonry by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. -Work as a quality assurance inspector on construction sites. -Ensure that the materials on the project meet the standards required by the engineering plans and specifications. -Perform field density and moisture testing of construction materials, (soil and asphalt.) -Perform sampling and testing of concrete, including tests for slump, temperature, air content and unit weight, and fabricating concrete test cylinders.
