Capital One is looking for a Director, Software Engineering to lead Engineering teams within Capital Markets Analytics. The role is focused on leading multiple teams side-by-side with our business partners on a transformation journey. Capital One Finance is on a journey to transform our technology from batch run processes on monolithic systems to On-Demand-Finance - real time processing - built in AWS with Microservices in Java, Angular, and Python. Responsibilities: Lead software engineering teams in an Agile environment leveraging advanced engineering practices to deliver scale solutions for the Finance Business Manage a portfolio of diverse technology projects that provide the backbone of Capital Market Analytic services for customers Recruit, motivate, mentor, and lead the best application engineering talent Develop business applications that maintain the highest availability, performance, and strive for simplicity Knowledge, passion for and ability to lead software engineers developing in: Java, Spring User Interface Technologies such as Angular and React, and DevOps Automation, Integration, Build and Deployment Tools Leverage strong engineering and technology background to go deep in technology Establish technical credibility across their internal teams and the external engineering community A strong foundation of derivative and cash management processing Experienced in COTS packages such as Murex, Summit, Quantum, QRM, Oracle Financial Services, etc. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree At least 1 year of experience designing and implementing Microservices-based architecture At least 5 years' experience leading software engineering teams in an Agile environment At least 5 years' experience with object-oriented programming and design (Java, Python, JavaScript) At least 5 years' experience in developing web applications, architectural standards and SOA technologies Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree 2+ years of experience in Cloud Computing 3+ years' experience with COTS products such as Murex, Summit, QRM, Oracle FInancial Services, PeopleSoft Financials, etc. 2+ years experience in leading teams building Microservices 2+ years experience in leading agile teams utilizing DevOps Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.
