Transmission Engineer
Key Role:

Work under general direction to assist with the planning, design, and implementation of communications networks. Maintain responsibility for the assessment and optimization of network design through reviewing and assessing user needs. Conduct feasibility studies for large projects, develop requests for proposal, evaluate vendor products, and make recommendations on selection. C oordinate transmission efforts, including prioritizing projects and tasks and working with system integrators as the transmission product owner. Provide technical support for all client equipment labs, run lab experiments with regards to transmission, and work with baseband networking configurations to integrate transmission products. Function in a lead position, as needed, including providing guidance and training to junior analysts.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with all aspects of transmission, including modulation and coding, link budgets, radio frequency equipment, antennas, waveforms, and blockage mitigation

-Knowledge of tactical satellite communications (SATCOM), including iDirect, Viasat, Linkway, and NCW MPM modems

-Knowledge of Electronic Warfare (EW)

-Ability to guide the development of transmission aspects of the Army's Tactical Network Architecture, including implementation of the physical network

-Secret clearance

-BS degree in CS, Computer Engineering, or EE

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of DoD standards
