The Security Specialist, NH-0080-03 position is located in the U.S. Army Acquisition Support Center (USAASC), at Fort Belvoir, VA. This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) position in the NH-03 broadband with an advertised pay range from the lowest equivalent GS-12 grade Step 1 to the highest equivalent GS-13 grade step 10 in the broadband.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Conducting Operations Security (OPSEC) of a program to include review of policies, procedures, and methods of protecting information to prevent security threats such as unauthorized disclosure, espionage, and sabotage; 2) Performing continuous security evaluations of personnel adjudication reviews, request for clearances or special access to determine a person's suitability; and 3) Assisting in the administration of a security program to include personnel security, operations security, physical security, or industrial security to effectively implement required procedures and operations of each functional security area.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 (GS-11).

Responsibilities
- Represents the HQ, United States Army Acquisition Support Center (HQ USAASC) as an expert on assigned physical security program elements and projects.
- Develops and recommends personnel security policy, directives, and implements PERSEC guidance.
- Manages the classification management program including coordinating security classification guidance, declassification reviews, and security education and training for the command.
- Responsible for implementing the USAASC Operations Security (OPSEC) Program by establishing OPSEC objectives, policies, and procedures.
