: EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

In this position, you will provide assistance to program officials on matters relating to the development, evaluation and implementation of programs or administrative activities.

. Typical assignments include:
  • Coordinating and/or collaborating with agency employees and/or program representatives to identify program or administrative improvements and/or to determine conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Providing day to day financial management and budget coordination for the organization. Assisting in the preparation of narrative and data collection for annual budget submissions, year-end and midyear reports, and other submissions as required.
  • Developing PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and executive level summaries/reports that provide analysis results of various logistics operations. Preparing a variety of general correspondences and other documents.
  • Serving as a point of coordination on human resource activities, including those associated with recruitment, reassignment, awards, performance appraisals and related matters.
  • Functioning as an office manager ensuring efficient operation of administrative systems and effective flow of action documents. Maintaining a document tracking system to ensure that deadlines are met and following up to ensure that actions are completed.
  • Serving as a timekeeper for the organization's personnel and may serve as the alternate timekeeper for subordinate elements.

Qualifications

The qualification requirements listed below must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

You qualify for this position at the GS-11 level (starting salary $69,581 if you possess the following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-09) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting management on the evaluation of agency programs; and
  • Managing administrative processes (including budgets and funding).

OR
  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or
  • 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

OR
  • Combination of education and experience
