Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for providing support to the Package Services Group, Facilities services Division (FSD).

Responsibilities

The incumbent will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant responsible for providing support to the Package Services Group, Facilities services Division (FSD). The incumbent will organize and maintain the Group filing system of administrative files. The incumbent will be skilled in the basic use of MS Excel spreadsheets and the use of office automation tools, including MS Word, and web based software programs. The incumbent will proofread reports and administrative documents for spelling and grammar; serve as a central point of contact for routine Group administrative questions; direct calls and inquiries to appropriate Package Services Group staff; receive visitors, using good customer service; provide administrative support for special assignments, as required; prepare billing files based on invoices received.

Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 level (or ZS-II at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative support such as data entry through automated systems, purchasing supplies and maintaining the group filing system.

An equivalent combination of experience and/or post-high school education

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
