This position is being announced under the Pathways Recent Graduates Program. This program affords developmental experiences in the Federal Government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic, developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government. As a Data Analyst, you will perform the following duties:
  • Performs assignments consisting of data analytical problems of a procedural or factual nature, and assists higher graded analysts with executing data analytic studies that materially affect the Public Buildings Service' projects, programs, and initiatives.
  • Assess the effectiveness of standard designated business/program operations, processes, projects and/or systems, particularly in relation to data management, data integrity and accuracy. Analyze standard data and/or management processes to enhance internal and/or external customer satisfaction.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with other stakeholders to help reach business objectives related to the management and maintenance of Public Buildings Service business practices. Responds, with assistance, to requests through a variety of means such as oral or written responses, formal directives, analytical reports, or electronic media to incoming inquiries from other program offices.
  • Extracts, reviews and validates standard data that supports the performance measures that impact the agency. Collaborate with various support divisions to provide information through data sharing and electronic data interchange. Participates with data cleaning initiatives within National Public Buildings Service Systems and data. Assists with the coordination of data items with appropriate individuals and reconcile data inconsistencies with the appropriate individuals.

    The GS-09 salary range starts at $57,510 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.

    To qualify, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is administering and monitoring administrative, clerical and internal management support functions for an organization, and providing customer service to a wide array of internal and external customers. This experience must include using spreadsheet software and word processing software to manage information; maintaining tracking systems; developing reports, and entering information into databases. OR Education: Applicants must have a Master's in a business related field or equivalent graduate degree such as LL.B. or J.D., or 2 academic years of progressively higher level graduate education in a related field. OR Combination of Education & Specialized Experience: Applicants must have a combination of graduate level education (beyond the Bachelor's Degree) and specialized experience (as described above) that together meet the qualification requirements of this position.

    You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

    We will use a method called Category Rating to assess your application. Here's how it will work:
    • You will be scored on the questions you answer during the application process, which will measure your possession of the following competencies or knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Knowledge of the intent and purpose of policies and initiatives related to data management.
  • Ability to gather, evaluate, and format standard data in connection with the compilation of statistical information
    and the preparation of recurring reports.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned programs, specifically management objectives and issues relevant to organizational goals.
  • Skill in written and oral communications to explain and implement standard data processes and data management decisions and practices.
  • Ability to gather, evaluate, and format standard data in connection with the compilation of statistical information and the preparation of recurring reports. Written and oral communications skills to explain and implement business systems and data management decisions and practices.
    • Your answers to the questions will be used to place you in one of three categories: Best Qualified, Well Qualified, or Qualified
    • We will verify your answers to the questions in your resume. If your resume doesn't support your answers, we may lower your score, which could place you in a lower category.
    • Within each category, veterans will receive selection priority over non-veterans.

    ALL required documents must be submitted before the closing date. Review the following list to determine what you need to submit.
