Job SummaryPROJECT ACCOUNTANTA large real estate and investment firm seeks a Project Accountant. This position will sit in Washington DC. The main focus will be to apply principles of accounting and finance to analyze financial information and assist with preparation of financial reports.location: Washington, District Of Columbiajob type: Permanentsalary: $60,000 - 65,000 per yearwork hours: 9 to 5education: Bachelor's degreeexperience: 2 YearsResponsibilities Carry out month-end close procedures including preparation and/or review of account reconciliations and preparation and posting of monthly general journal entries. Partner with the Property Manager to ensure accuracy of journal entries and general ledger. Perform cash management functions including but not limited to: monitor and record cash transactions and investment of excess cash balances as well as reconcile bank accounts. Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules. Assist in annual plan/budget preparation process by preparing revenue projections and variance analysis for certain accounts. Coordinate and prepare lease administration as follows: interpret lease agreements and accounts for impacts of lease provisions and clauses, set up new leases in accounting system, record rental revenue, prepare tenant billings, communicate with tenants regarding rental payments and other billings, reconcile tenant billingsaccounts.
