Job Description: Description SAIC is looking for a motivated software developer to join a dynamic team in our Chantilly, VA office. The ideal candidate will work within a small team of Systems Administrators, Network Engineers and Software Developers to develop, install, operate, and maintain government network, systems, and applications for multiple programs of interest and a large user base. The candidate will develop, update, and maintain applications software for the various programs. The candidate must possess working knowledge in a variety of Information Technology (IT) infrastructures and enterprise system technologies supporting a virtual operating environment. The candidate will: - Interact with users and evaluate vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, supports installation, and integration services. - Maintain system and software documentation. - Coordinates with Security personnel to ensure developed/integrated software meets security hardening requirements. - Install, configure, and maintain Windows based OS and Linux based OS servers, including web servers, application servers, file servers. - Perform software development and integration tasks as needed to deliver features and capabilities as directed by the customer. - Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. - Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels. - Ensure server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions and compliance with Security controls. - Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. - Conduct hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Affect minor repairs on workstation hardware. Qualifications - An active TS/SCI security clearance with Counter-Intelligence (CI) Polygraph is required. - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline. - 9 years of related technical work experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree. - Understand network protocols and security controls applied to avoid/mitigate vulnerabilities. - Solid understanding, familiarity and mastering of Windows and Linux operating systems. - A minimum of 5 years of experience developing software/applications with Java programming. - Must work well in a team or as individual contributor, understanding impact on mission. - Significant customer interface requires personality for respectful and cooperative interactions. - Demonstrate a general commitment to excellence, a dedication to producing quality work results, and an ability to learn and apply new skills. - Committed to customer service, well organized, able to plan and prioritize assignments, and able to successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - Familiarity with network architectures to include inter-communications between servers/systems required by applications. - Understand network protocols and security controls applied to avoid/mitigate vulnerabilities. - 3+ years of relevant experience developing software in C++, or related languages. Must have experience developing software that executes across multiple processors. - Must have a strong working knowledge of tools and libraries available for the Windows and Linux operating systems, and be familiar with sound software engineering principles and methodologies. Front end: JavaScript, HTML. Back end: C#, Java, .Net, SQL, Microsoft .NET. - Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of developer Tools & Servers: Visual Studio Professional, Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, IIS, Apache, Windows Server 2012, SQL Server 2012, RHEL/Centos. - Experience in ICD 503 accreditation process. - Familiarity with DoD Information Security Policies, Information Assurance practices, and Assessment & Authorization (A&A) requirements Desired Qualifications SAIC is a premier technology integrator, solving our nation's most complex modernization and systems engineering challenges across the defense, space, federal civilian, and intelligence markets.
