Energize your career at Exelon! **Special Posting Notes - Positions at either General Engineer or Sr Engineer level - Reliability Maintenance Planning: This position supports the Reliability & Maintenance Planning Unit's goals that include investigation of system performance, improvement of system reliability, as well as coordination and development of new reliability and system performance programs and projects. The group also interfaces with MD Public Service Commission regularly to respond to data requests regarding BGE's performance (including storm performance) and to obtain approval for special reliability programs. Candidates with the following knowledge and experience preferred: Electric Utility Equipment, Electric Utility Applications, Microsoft Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI). Select Work Items include: * Engineering work to improve system reliability. Support 4KV Reliability Improvements, and using reliability data to target areas for infrastructure improvements. Work with regional engineering who will design improvement work * Leverage reliability data to identify new programs and innovations to improve system reliability * Support the execution of reliability programs, oversight and project management type role * Support the identification of new equipment and or programs which can support improving system reliability * Support Annual Seasonal Readiness activities to ensure system is ready for peak summer and winter conditions * Support/lead reliability improvement teams to identify new programs to enhance system performance * Support efforts across the Exelon fleet to obtain alignment across the sister utilities - Distribution Planning: This position supports the electric distribution deliverables by performing load forecasting activities, performing engineering studies for complex distribution projects, providing support of distribution projects through various project stages (initiation to completion), managing strategic distribution initiatives, tracking internal and external metrics, etc. Working knowledge of distribution planning principles (load forecasting, ratings, thermal assessment, voltage and reactive assessment, long range studies, etc.) is strongly preferred. In addition to the distribution planner/distribution business owner roles, some of the current initiatives include: * Incorporation of DER into the Planning Process - impact studies, development of processes/best practices across Exelon utilities, hosting capacity analyses, enterprise study tool selection, etc.) * Study/Implementation of battery storage energy systems for area load relief, incorporation of BESS/NWA in the planning process * Support of Exelon Data Analytics Initiative - use cases related to grid monitoring, network connectivity, DER integration, long range forecasting, etc. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Develops studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, budgets, associated with the planning, design, licensing, construction, operation, and maintenance of Exelon's electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas and telecommunication facilities/systems. Provides consultation and recommendations to the Company within and to other business units and/or customers as a result of studying company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles or facilities. Reviews financial data from budget and actual costs of projects. Operates independently and seeks guidance when appropriate. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
